Description
To capture a train at this location under these conditions has long been a goal of mine over many years and failed attempts.
Here the sun has to be in exactly the right place for the scene to come alive.
Finally, there has to be a westbound train making its way along the colourful glacial fed Bow River, high in Canada’s Rocky Mountains.
Everything aligned on this morning: the light, the landscape, and the arrival of the Royal Canadian Pacific. Its coaches, meticulously restored and updated, include cars that have witnessed nearly a century of CPR history. Up front, the F9s — polished to perfection in their Tuscan Red, Grey and Yellow heritage colours, shine like moving heirlooms.
The final touch was the friendly engineer with an extra horn blast and a friendly wave.
